Coach Timothy Miller – Head Varsity Coach

Tim Miller, winner of four high school state championships as a head coach, joined the Crimson Tide coaching staff as an assistant on June 6, 2012. In addition to coaching and player development, Miller will handle walk-ons, team mailings, individual workouts, player communication and will assist with scouting and recruiting. Miller, who has 16 years of head coaching experience at the high
school level, boasts a combined record of 460-68. His success has drawn Miller several individual accolades, including being named the National Federation Southeast Coach of the Year in 2009 and 2012 and the National Coaches Association for Women’s Basketball Southern Region coach of the year in the same seasons. He is a five-time Alabama Sports Writers coach of the
year (2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011), a three-time Montgomery Advertiser coach of the year (2001, 2002,
2006) and a three-time Huntsville Times coach of the year (2008, 2009, 2011).

During five seasons at Bob Jones High School in Madison, Ala., Miller compiled 168 victories while winning 6A state championships in 2008, 2009 and 2011. In the two seasons his team did not win the championship, they finished as runner-up. In all five years, Miller’s squads eclipsed the 30-win mark, collecting a high of 36 victories during the 2012 season. More than 40 of his players went on to sign national letters of intent to play for NCAA Division I programs.

From 1998-2007, Miller coached at Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery, Ala., serving as the assistant boys basketball coach for one season before becoming head girls basketball coach in 2000. Under his guidance, the Volunteers won a state championship in 2006, advanced to three final fours and were region champions twice. In his time at Hazel Green, Miller has guided his team to three Final Four appearances, losing by 1 point two times and producing a state runner-up the other. Miller, a graduate of The University of Alabama, completed his degree in human performance in 1994. He is married to the former Kimberly Ann Brooks and has one stepson, Charles Anthony Bennett.
