Coach Charmaine Powell– Assistant Coach
Charmaine Powell has 13 years of assisting coaching experience at the high school level. She is originally from Pittsburgh Pa. and has lived in Alabama for 14 years. During five seasons 2006-2010 at Bob Jones High School in Madison, Ala., She assisted Coach Miller with winning 3, 6A state championships and 2 runners – up. From 1998-2007, Powell assisted Coach Miller at Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery, Ala., winning a state championship in 2006, advancing to three final fours and 2 region champions . As a classroom teacher she worked with 10th thru 12th at- risk students, teaching Graduation state exam skills, ACT, assisting students with completing college and scholarship searches/applications, conflict resolution, general study skills and time management. Coach Powell is a Member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority incorporate and has a bachelor’s degree from Livingstone College in Salisbury North Carolina.. She is married to Rev. Larry S. Powell Sr. and has two adopted daughters, Erica, Libby, Step-daughter Nikisha Powell, son, Larry S Powell II and Two precious grandchildren Makayla and Theo. She enjoys meeting and talking to different people from every walks of life and believes if one keeps God in your everyday life and treat people the way you want to be treated then one will experience a more meaningful life experience even in sports.
